Osamu Funao was born in 1960 Kobe city Japan.

Graduated Tsukuba University faculty of biology in 1984.

 

Be craxy about rock climbing & mountaineering during in his twenties and have traveld all over the world to look for the big wall & high mountains. He has a lot of climbing record in Japan.

 

During traveling Africa for two years, he awakened the possibility of photography. Then became a photographer and continue his work for documentary photographs until now.

 

His main work is such as

[ Pygmy, The Forest People],

[ Pakistan Earthquake],

[ Omo natural fashion],

[KAMISAMA HOTOKESAMA, The spiritual origine of Japanese] ,

[ The great Indus river]

[ Architecture of Manchuria, China] etc.

 

He received a prize of
